Whether they’re on the diamond, the court or the gridiron, our Georgia Southern University Eagles represent the pride of the Coastal Empire, and no one takes more pride in their tradition of excellence than Optim Orthopedics.

That’s because we’re not just fans, we’re right there on the sidelines and in the locker room serving as team physicians. As part of the long-standing partnership between Georgia Southern University athletics and Optim Orthopedics, our physicians serve as the official athletic trainers to the Eagles, offering a completely comprehensive program to not only prevent and test injuries, but to treat them with the utmost care.

And it truly is a partnership. Dr. Don G. Aaron, physician director, describes it as one that sees Optim Orthopedics working side-by-side with coaches and student-athletes, “working toward the common goal of getting that athlete back into play as safely as quickly as possible, and as safely as possible.”

The high level of attention and expertise is backed up by the technological prowess Optim Orthopedics brings to the field. Whether it’s specialized computer testing to assess concussions or biomechanical analysis to observe post-injury changes to a pitcher’s throw, Optim Orthopedics utilizes a host of high-tech treatments in keeping our GSU Eagles healthy.

This partnership between Georgia Southern University and Optim Orthopedics goes well beyond the field of play. Optim proudly sponsors a number of events alongside the university, ranging from a patriotic flyover over an Eagles football game to a conference inviting coaches and staff from high schools across Georgia to advance the level of care student-athletes receive.

The Coastal Empire is proud to call the Georgia Southern Eagles our own. And Optim Orthopedics is proud of the work we do to keep our Eagles flying.
