Laser therapy is a medical treatment that uses focused light to stimulate a process called photobiomodulation (PBM). During PBM, photons enter the tissue and trigger a biological cascade of events that leads to an increase in cellular metabolism, which can decrease pain and inflammation and accelerate the healing process. What’s the difference with Optim’s Class IV laser?
Optim Therapy uses a Class IV, high-power, single wavelength laser to penetrate deeper than “cold” lasers. “Cold” Lasers are typically in the Red Light spectrum that you’ll find at cosmetic or med-spa’s. They are great for surface level or dermal layer treatment, but at those wavelengths they can’t penetrate to target the deeper pain sources.
A Class IV laser works at a higher frequency (visible spectrum and near-infrared) to penetrate below the dermal layer. That means core issues cans be targeted like musculoskelatal pain, tendonitis, and sprains.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?
Laser therapy treatments must be administered directly to skin, as clothing or topical dressings interfere withdelivering light to tissues beneath the skin. Patients will feel a soothing warmth as the therapy is administered.
