Injury, pain and conditions concerning the spine are always serious. But, surgical measures are not always the the best answer for each patient. Dr. Jones specializes in just that. Non-operative treatments to help patients find relief, recovery quickly, and get back to their everyday activities safely.
Brad Jones, MD is a non-operative orthopedics surgeon serving the Bluffton, Hilton Head & Beaufort County conmmunity.
“My philosophy for patient care has always been, and will be, to treat others with respect and provide care that I would want for my family. In following this belief, I can know that I will always strive to do what is best for those that I am lucky to care for.”
Growing up in Atlanta, our family’s best friends daughter had Cystic Fibrosis and died at an early age. I saw her go through years of treatment and even had to help take her to the hospital at a critical part of her life. In doing so I saw how her Medical team treated her and her family and it opened my eyes to the medical world.
Then one year later, I had a shoulder injury playing sports in High School and had to have surgery. This was my first exposure to Orthopedics, and I knew at that point I wanted to pursue becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon.
I had a wonderful career in Northern California after I completed my Spine Fellowship while in Los Angeles. I developed a Spine practice and formed a multispecialty Spine clinic and helped develop the Spine program at my primary Hospital. I had opportunities while there to become a teaching Faculty member for Medtronic in their Spinal Robotics program and taught surgeon’s on how to use and implement Robotics into their practice.
Having grown up in Atlanta, both my wife and I knew we’d one day return to the Southeast. Both our daughters now reside in South Carolina, and with aging parents, we left California for a change of pace and to be closer to family.
My family has always been my main focus in life, and I have tried to find a balance as a busy surgeon over the years. With my daughter’s both living in SC now, one in Charleston and the other at Clemson, and with aging parents, my wife and I decided to leave long term careers and relocate to Beaufort, SC. I am now enjoying a slower pace of life! I have started to pursue art, something I had to give up during my training and building my practice. In addition, I am a car nut and want to be mechanic. I have restored my dad’s MG Midget that he has had since I was born and fabricated an offroad Jeep that I enjoyed in the West while there. I am hoping to find my next project soon while also spending days outside and exploring the Low Country with my wife , Jenny.
